Exercises: systems with three variables

Suppose, you are a general quadratic function f(x)=ax2+bx+c, but don't know the parameters a, b and c. You only know that the points R(1|2), Q(1|3) and S(0|1) lie on the graph of the function f.

In the following, we will use this information to find the parameters a, b and c.

  1. Set up a system of linear equations with the variables a, b and c.

  2. Solve the system of equations.

  3. Write down the function equation.
